Bambuco Bamboo Bridge

Newcastle & Gateshead's 8th crossing of the Tyne: the temporary bamboo bridge constructed by Bambuco.  It was completed on Friday 18th July and lit to launch the start of the SummerTyne festival.

The crossing is comprised of two 25 metre high towers, with a suspended ropeway inbetween.  Unfortunately, but probably wisely, it was not designed for the public to cross.

These pictures were taken at the event on the Friday.  The bridge is already coming down.
